About Us
DAL SEGNO store takes its name from a musical sign meaning “from the sign”—a return to a specific point in the score. This idea of returning, reinterpreting and moving forward inspires our approach to concert dressing.
Founded by Natalia Jansen, a photographer and art historian specialising in textiles and costume design, Dal Segno began with contemporary concert clothing for women. Today, it is growing into a broader wardrobe for classical musicians, combining thoughtful design, carefully selected fabrics and an understanding of the realities of a musician’s life on and off stage.
We explore how concert attire can evolve, finding new possibilities in silhouette, fabric and detail while respecting the traditions and dress codes of classical music, from orchestra black to black tie.
DAL SEGNO store was created by Natalia Jansen, a photographer and art historian specializing in textiles and costumology. Later, she was joined by her sister, Agata Michalec Stahl, a violinist based in Switzerland.
At the beginning of 2022, a group of musicians, visual artists and tailors joined the team and are now a part of Dal Segno circle of close collaborators. Collection 2022/23 reflects this process and has been developed by an exceptional designer Renata Taleb.
Starting in 2023 Atelier based in Rotterdam, Dal Segno became a place where you can purchase ready-to-wear clothes for female musicians and also create unique bespoke pieces.
