Unlike plastic covers and dry-cleaning bags, which trap moisture and prevent fabrics from breathing, our 100% unbleached cotton bag offers archival-level protection. Plastic materials not only lock in humidity but also release harmful gases that can weaken fibers over time. Dust is another silent destroyer—its tiny, sharp particles can cut into fabrics, especially as humidity fluctuates during travel.

Our garment bags are made from the same high-grade cotton used by the Textile Conservation Department of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. As a former intern at the Museum Textile Department (The Antonio Ratti Textile Center)  and a specialist in historical fabrics, Natalia, the founder of Dal Segno, has applied her expertise to create a product that meets professional preservation standards.
